Halfway along Jamaica's eastern edge, and a mile or so on from the Ranch Bar, a road swings left off the main to the Reach Falls.
It is one of the loveliest spots on the island, with the Drivers River running through
some sumptuous rainforest before cascading over the falls into a wide, green pool. The thirty-foot water
waterfall itself is pretty spectacular, and you can stand right underneath it for an invigorating water
massage. From the base of the falls, tour guides will take you on a thirty-minutes trek upriver through
the rainforest and climbing up beside the waterfalls, picking your way across slippery rocks, swimming
through deep pools and wading along the riverbed. Coming from negril area or Montego area and interested in doing this tours, its better
to stay over night in Port Antonio to Enjoy yourself.
This little cove of soft, silver sand is sheltered by jungle-covered cliffs, and cleave,
green stream meanders around the edge into the sea. The beach shelves quite steeply
underwater, so the undertow can be strong; but in places the stream is deep enough to
bathe in, as it runs over the sand. It was once one of the area's most famous hotels,
home away from home to royalty and a list celebrities during the 1950s and 1960s.
The formerly sumptuous hotel villas have deteriorated, but the grounds are still beautifully
maintained, and the beach. Though small, is one of the most splendid in Jamaica.
